The Twin Island Republic has gotten off to a rough 2022 as far as homicides are concerned. As reported on Site Nestor, retired police officer Darryl Jodha was discovered dead in his Chaguanas home on Saturday morning. Police say foul play is suspected in the death of police sergeant, who was found unresponsive at his home at Oasis Gardens.
Desmond Rawlins was shot dead near his Fyzabad home earlier this month. His grieving widow, cried “I have two little children to see about. What I going and do now?”
Just as tragic was the murder of Garth Perkins, who called his father, a retired permanent secretary from Jamaica, to let him know he was safe, before being gunned down in cold blood.
As Site Nestor reported; “Perkins, 34 and an unidentified woman were walking towards his car parked on Broadway. They were approached by a gunman who demanded cash, police said. Officers said Garth Perkins resisted, causing the gunman to discharge one round, which struck him in the chest. The bandit then ran off without taking anything. The woman alerted people nearby and a man took Perkins to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where he died while receiving treatment.”
