So James Woods, a well-known actor who is just as well-known for his conservative stances on some issues, took to Twitter Sunday to praise who he refers to as; the greatest presidential lover of America in his lifetime. Tweeted Woods: “Let’s face it. Donald Trump is a rough individual. He is vain, insensitive and raw. But he loves America more than any President in my lifetime.”
So far, so balanced. It continues on.
“He is the last firewall between us and this cesspool called Washington. I’ll take him any day over any of these bums,” Woods declared. Which again is fine and a matter of personal opinion. No need to make the national news right?
Except The Hill felt Woods’ compliment of Trump was newsworthy. Its article on the matter even highlighting the fact; that Woods is tweeting this apparently unacceptable Trump compliment to his “2.73 million followers.” Which is probably the reason outlets like The Hill see this as newsworthy. Can’t have millions of people reading that Trump loves America. Nope. Just can’t have that.
Although Woods himself didn’t mention Barack Obama in his series of tweets, the geniuses at The Hill somehow figured out, that Woods’ tweets were a form of retort to Obama’s statements on Saturday. “The post by Woods was one of a number of tweets the actor made on Sunday defending Trump and knocking former President Obama in the wake of comments the former president made criticizing the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic the day before.”
The Hill of course couldn’t cite Woods’ Obama bashing tweets on Sunday because there weren’t any. Not direct ones anyway. He criticised Nancy Pelosi, Gavin Newsom and even Lindsay Graham. But not Obama. Not on Sunday. He did have plenty to say about Obama directly on Saturday though. The same day Obama made his comments. But of course there’s no real link between that and Woods’ Sunday Trump tweet. Which is probably why The Hill article is clutching at straws, trying to make a connection. But that’s the news nowadays.
Anyway, even worse than making the news simply for praising Trump, was the bashing Woods took on Twitter for daring to say anything positive about “Orange Man Bad”.
Wrote one Twitter dweller: “Just a friendly reminder that James Woods is a pedophile scumbag and if you support him you endorse his behavior…” These are the leftists who openly admit that, though they believe Tara Reade’s accusation against Joe Biden, they’ll support the former VP in November anyway, because he’s going up against Trump.
But let’s move onto another pedophile inspired tweet: “James Woods is a POS. Many women called him out several years ago for trying to pick them up as 16 year old girls. He always asked them to go to Vegas w him. When they said I’m only 16 he’d say PERFECT. See a connection?”
“I doubt there will ever be a worst president, EVER.” wrote an individual with an apparent case of Trump Derangement Syndrome; and totally lacking a basic grasp of grammar. “Truly hope Americans learned the lesson. James Woods is a joke.”
Yes. An actor is a joke for expressing an opinion about President Trump. Who again is the inadvertent root of all of this Twitter vitriol. Here’s to another Twitter trend inspired by Donald Trump.
