Hillary Clinton has once again demonstrated just how politically tone deaf she is, in a recent interview with the BBC’s Andrew Marr, which even CNN’s Anthony Bourdain called shameful. When questioned about the Harvey Weinstein affair, Mrs. Clinton remarkably made it about her new obsession, President Donald Trump.

“This kind of behavior cannot be tolerated anywhere, whether it’s in entertainment, politics,”

Politics? But what does that have to do with Harvey Weinstein’s particular case, which she was asked about? She should have stopped there but I suppose Mrs. Clinton is at the stage now where if she sees the “Trump” carrot, even if it hasn’t been dangled in front of her, she’s going to take a bite. Already you could hear the gears shifting in her mind. Make this about Trump. And then:

“After all, we have someone admitting to being a sexual assaulter in the Oval Office.”

What? Admitted? In the Oval Office? When did President Trump admit to sexual assault? Oh, she must mean when he acknowledged the veracity of the NBC tapes, when he “talked” about what he wanted to do; to an NBC reporter who was laughing and joking with him the whole time. And then President Trump, when meeting the target of his salacious words, was a perfect gentleman, based on what’s shown on the tapes. It never once showed him committing sexual harassment. There’s a clear difference between talking in an inappropriate sexual manner about a woman; which Trump is guilty of, and masturbating in front of a woman, which Harvey Weinstein is guilty of.

And Mrs. Clinton is supposed to be a lawyer? Wow! Her obsession with President Trump is bordering on insane, but she’s not alone. The DNC made a similar comparison last week, which was equally laughable and shameful. Their hatred of Trump really knows no bounds.

The Irony of the Hillary Clinton Statement

However, the most glaring irony of Mrs. Clinton’s words, is that they are perfectly applicable to her husband. When she said; “After all, we have someone admitting to being a sexual assaulter in the Oval Office.” I thought for a moment that she was talking about Bill Clinton who, beyond sexual harassment, has settled rape allegations as well. How Mrs. Clinton can defend that, just after attacking President Trump, (with as far as we know a false allegation), is beyond me. But that’s exactly what she goes on to do.

When “Marr responded by pointing out Clinton has dismissed allegations made by women against her husband, former President Bill Clinton, that Trump highlighted during the hard-fought presidential campaign.” (Fox News) Mrs Clinton simply brushed that aside saying; “That has all been litigated,(author’s emphasis)…That was subject of a huge investigation in the late ’90s and there were conclusions drawn. That was clearly in the past.”

Although President Trump is not an admitted sexual assaulter, he has settled out of court. In other words, the allegations of sexual assault brought against President Trump, which again aren’t admitted, have “all been litigated…” as well, to use Mrs. Clinton’s phraseology.

Yet her husband gets a pass for rape allegations, since “that’s all in the past” because they’ve already been “litigated”, according to Mrs. Clinton. However, President Trump, for sexual assault allegations, which have also been “litigated”, gets excoriated. What was that phrase about glass houses again? Unbelievable! No wonder Bourdain called this interview shameful.

Hillary Clinton Blames Ballot Box Beatdown On Women

She compounds all of this by again attacking President Trump for what he said about women. “The really sad part of the campaign was how this horrific tape, what he said about women in the past, what he said about women during the campaign, was discounted by a lot of voters,”

By the above, it’s clear what Hillary Clinton values. Power. The Weinstein affair really and truly does not matter to her. When she hears Weinstein she thinks “How did these idiotic people elect Trump over me?”

She says that the “horrific tape” was the “really sad part of the campaign”. Yet, how could that tape genuinely be horrific to Mrs. Clinton, knowing what she knows about her husband; who she still publicly defends and supports? Even in this interview she defends him. That’s why it’s so easy to discern that “horrific tape” is not the point she wants to make; but just a distraction to gain brownie points with the audience. She wants to link Trump’s tape to something else.

So why did she bring up the tapes if she didn’t genuinely care about the negative impact it had on women? Well she lets us know what she truly cares about when she says that the tape “was discounted by a lot of voters.” Remember, this is a question about Harvey Weinstein’s sexual assault and rape allegations. But once again, Mrs. Clinton’s primary, unwavering focus is on power, and how that power slipped away from her.

That is why she has never publicly condemned her husband. And that is why the first thing she had to say in response to a question about Harvey Weinstein, was “shame on the voters for electing Trump.” This is why Trump’s transgressions matter to her and those of Mr. Weinstein don’t. It’s all about power with her. President Trump got in her way but Harvey Weinstein didn’t.

Hillary Clinton & Harvey Weinstein

She does eventually get to Mr. Weinstein saying; “He’s been a supporter — he’s been a funder for all of us, for Obama, for me, for people who have run for office in the United States,…So it was just disgusting and the stories that have come out are heartbreaking. And I really commend the women who have been willing to step forward now and tell their stories.”

Notice how she could not simply acknowledge her close personal and financial affiliation with Mr. Weinstein, without including former President Obama and her fellow Democrats. “Self-serving” really is an understatement when describing Hillary Clinton.

Of course she follows the talking points to a tee, calling what Mr. Weinstein did, “disgusting”, which both she and President Obama took five days to figure out apparently.

Overall, this interview provides some real insight into the mindset of one Hillary Clinton. Just imagine how bad things would have gotten for the entire world, with someone that power hungry and self serving as P.O.T.U.S.
